Dirk & Patricia Bowles
Dirk & Patricia Bowles
Dirk and Patricia Bowles are lifelong residents of Franklin County, Idaho. They are the parents of one daughter and three sons and proudly claim 10 grandchildren. They live in Fairview Idaho and farm the site Dirk’s great-grandfather purchased in 1897. This Idaho Century Farm has grown under Dirk and Pat’s management and ownership; it consists of an expanding dairy operation and produces corn, alfalfa, and grains. As 4th generation owners/operators they are keenly aware of the opportunities and challenges of succession planning.

Dirk is finishing his 16th year as a Franklin County Commissioner. Prior to his service as a county commissioner, Dirk served two terms on the Franklin County planning and zoning commission. He has served on the Cub River Irrigation Board and as a member of both the Franklin County extension committees for forage and dairy schools. He enjoys reading, spending time with his family and enjoying Franklin County's natural outdoor beauty. Pat is a registered nurse and has spent the last several decades working at Franklin County Medical Center in various capacities, including as director of nursing. She enjoys all animals, playing the piano, reading, knitting, hiking, cooking, and traveling. Pat finds a great deal of satisfaction in community service as well and served on the Preston School District school board for eight years.

Dirk and Pat are both very involved in church service. They enjoy people and believe communication and education are vital to success in any endeavor. They are in the process of planning their retirement and developing Bowles Dairy succession plan with their youngest son, Nicholas and his wife Taylor.
